Kapolei, Second City

The Rail Catastrophe is sure doing wonders for a lot of thinking people in the West. They do not want to be part of suburbia Honolulu. And they know now that it will never do for the regular users of public transportation. Right today, you can get the "C" bus just before it hits the freeway in Kapolei at 9.40 AM and get off the bus at Middle Street and Dillingham at 10:00. Twenty minutes, hey what's the hurry?  "Rapid Transit" will have 21 stops and take an hour from start to finish. Yes, I know, this is the new definition of "Rapid Transit" by the Present Rail Party. Did somebody get conned?

"You can con some of the people all of the time. and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot con all of the people all the time." Who said that?

The automobile companies are well aware of the fact. A new Automobile Agency is coming to Kapolei and naturally, they figure they will be selling more cars at the place where they need them the most. Then there are the single passenger electric vehicles that will be in demand. There are already several charging stations on Oahu and all for free. That is what I read, check it out.

The rest of the shopping center business is due to increase and the hours will get longer. A night life will be established going until midnight. Though the Cocktail Lounge and possible night clubs seem to be going in the direction of Kalealoa. There are several drinking places there now. A small industrial park in the area would certainly help. A night club in an industrial park is common on the mainland but has never been seen on Oahu.

Unfortunately many designers of the business districts are still in one story 20th century mode. Waianae is increasing their building to two and even three stories which is a little more this century. No need to spread out even if you are not going to have skyscrapers. But this business building means there are going to be many more residents that "I coulda got home in 20 minutes." We would be a little closer to Paradise.

However, this is going to be second city in spite of the Present Rail Party trying to hold it back. And the billions and billions of dollars in profits from a useless Rail Calamity.
