Kalealoa Shore, the bottom part of the Platinum Horseshoe is certainly coming into prominence. First the Kalealoa Airport which is going good already with Mokulele Airlines planes leaving for the neighbor islands regularly. There are plans for a low cost hotel in the vicinity that could mean three of four bars in the next year and some with live music. Terrific beginning for Night Life in the West.

"Life isn’t about getting and having, it’s about giving and being."

The mostly arid, undeveloped land in this area of West Oahu, which encompasses 3,700 acres, seems to have a lot of potential. No one has ever used it for agriculture in five thousand years. Currently, there’s about 700 residents in the area. But in the master plan for the area they expect to have about 10,000 new residents to Kalaeloa in the next decade.  Hopefully they will include plenty of Industrial Parks. "I coulda got home in 20 minutes." Lotta potential dancers.

Kalaeloa could be developed into a small airport town with aerospace jobs and related-businesses. The Airport Hotel, the Best Western Plaza Hotel and the Castle Pacific Marina Inn will all be DOA, in the next few years due to the Rail Disaster. No one will stand the noise for blocks around. The new and inexpensive Hotel will be in Kalealoa, with a Ballroom? Somebody already suggested, "why not two Hotels?" All right by me.

"Stranger in Paradise" by Tony Bennett

The entire shore from Barber's Point to Ewa Beach is being looked over for development with Industrial Parks to avoid the Rail Catastrophe. The idea is an old idea. Live,Work and Play in the same place and you can call it Paradise. Honolulu? Oh yes, we visit every year or so. It is not that bad, now.
