We Cannot Lose Hope

Waianae is still lost and still feeling the distance from Downtown Honolulu. The Rail Disaster will make it worse. Tacos And More, the Mexican restaurant is leading all the action in the food, drink and eat departments.

"Tiny Bubbles" by Don Ho

Tamura's Market is expanding very nicely and so is the area around them. Nanakuli may get the Library and things will improve there too.

"There is no use whatever trying to help people who do not help
themselves. You cannot push anyone up a ladder unless
they are willing to climb it themselves."

Kapolei and surrounding areas are static. The Rail Crisis is upon them and there are big puzzles every time the estimates increase. The original was five billion dollars and after Caldwell got elected the price went to six billion and no one said anything. Cost over runs, overlooked expenses, we all know Da Kine. Now it is at seven billion. Gonna go higher? You can bet your dancing shoes on that! This is easy money for the Fat Cats in Honolulu.

The Dance Studio in Pearl City? I just haven't found it.

Nothing doing in Kapolei has sure helped the Central Valley. Dot's In Wahiawa is doing so good, they don't think they need anything like this blog. Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club is doing good and getting to be well know in the neighbor islands. Dance Hawaii is doing well in Waipahu. The rumors persists of a new dance club in the Wiakele - Waipio area. Stands to reason.

"Kachi, Kachi Music, Makawao" by Willie K

Then the dance Studios in this area do not respond. So when the new one comes, we may be able to get them to share their information to our readers. Kapolei is still the leading candidate for progression in this blog but many dancers are not aware of it or have little knowledge of what blogging is all about. This is something we have to work on.

The Central Valley

I waited for Willy and his pictures but I guess he is too busy. Later is just fine. Meanwhile we are getting some dance possibilities in Waikele or Waipio. The Dance Pavilion that was to be built at the Patsy Mink Recreation Center has been cancelled to pay for the Rail Disaster. So the dancers in that neighorhood are thinking of a nice new club. Could be the best in the west.

"We already know that few people learn from success,
but there is much to learn from failure."

The residents of this section are going to be big reader/dancers of this blog and perhaps more than a few will be willing to contribute a little dance information for their fellow dancers. Could develop this blog into a first class A number one blog. Of course you can check the hits now, getting closer to the magic number.

"Kiss Of Fire" By Georgia Gibbs

At present the one leading the charge into the Central Valley is Wahaiwa Ballroom Dance Cllub and they are now known all the way to the Big Island on just those beautiful photos they contributed.

"All Or Nothing At All" By Frank Sinatra

We just going nicely and I am now working on getting some special photos. The photo of a nice dance couple in dance costume and in a dance pose that I can use for a dance icon in my posters. I have been using ready made transparent but they are hard to find. I have learned how to make a photo "transparent", so that the background is transparent and only the couple appears in the poster. I can eventually delete all the professionals that I have and only use "our" people.

Of course, there is Murphy's Law: if anything can go wrong, it will.

Stow But Steady.

The photo department in all our blogs is looking better all the time. Take a look-see at the latest photos from Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club Their terrific photo presentation is different than the others? Different than mine? Of course, that is the idea of what we have been trying to promote. The results are so, that when we have the next Guest Author, he/she will put their own version of photos and we will all benefit from the differences. We are moving in the right direction.

"The thinking that guides your intelligence is much more important
than how much intelligence you may have."

In West Oahu, we are progressing as good as the older blogs with more experience. A very important function coming into view. At one time we had Willy Dionisio of Kapolei Chapter HBDA help to get some good photos in this blog. Now, I am hoping to get the latest addition, Maurice Morita from Dance Hawaii. He might send us some photos and I could make a nice write up of his information. And many will see the increase in hits all around. It will take a while for it to sink in, that we are for the dancers, all of them.

"Adoro" by Armando Manzanero

If you see one of your competitors featured in this blog  It is because they were willing to share the dance information with their fellow dancers on this Island.. If you do not see anything of yours, it is because you were not willing to share with your fellow dancers. It was your decision, never ours. We don't have to worry about these people that are coming in, they will just naturally develop into the best bloggers in the Pacific. This process is happening now.

"The World Is Waiting For The Sunrise" ... Les Paul and Mary Ford

When this blog, gets more dance groups that are willing to join in, you will see the difference in the hits. People will begin to know what synergism is and how it works for the benefit of all concerned. 20 + 20 is more than 40 in synergism. Of course, we have a few more dance clubs in the West coming into view. Happy Dancing!

Sorry, but is completely screwed up.

It May Be Rolling

Dancing in West Oahu is changing for the best. No big changes just more of a kind of polish, just removing the rough edges. Anyway the dancers are looking good with the help of some of the best instructors in these Islands. Good rhythm, both external and internal, is the seed from which dance and its twin sister, music, arise.

"Things alter for the worse, spontaneously,
if they be not altered for the better, designedly."

Most experienced dancers are becoming well aware of the same movements in each dance. They recognize the basic moves, walk, run, hop, jump, leap, skip, glide and gallop. Though most are not familiar with the terminology  I will have to review these here some day. Of course, we need feedback from the readers to make it easier to accept it all the way around.

 "Mister Sandman" By the Chordettes.

Then there's the new blog Ritmo Mestizo that will cover the Latin Dance scene. Just click it in the side bar of this blog. At this point it has still not been properly defined, just think it over.  But a night club is coming that will feature Latin music and dance using the nucleus set up by the disciplines of American and International styles.

"Fly Me To The Moon" by Jimmy Borges

Platinum Horseshoe is headed for the top of the blogs if it gets what it needs. A couple more Two Centers and at least one good steady Guest Author, one that can blog at least 3 times per month, but no commitments necessary. And they can write whatever they please as long it they can take credit for it.  33 average hits per day are 1000 hits per month. Not bad, good enough to be within striking distance.

West Oahu

At the Senior Apartments in Nanakuli:  I'm the life of the party - even if it lasts til 8 pm. - I'm very good at opening child proof caps, with a hammer - I'm usually interested in going home before I get to where I am going - I'm good on a trip for at least an hour without aspirin or antacid - I'm the first one to find a bathroom wherever I go - I'm awake many hours before my body allows me to get up -
I'm very good at telling stories - over and over again - I'm aware that other people's grandchildren are not as bright as mine - I'm well cared for, long term care, eye care, medicare, private care, dental care.

"The big problem for all of us dancers is how best are we going to
spend this one odd and precious life that we have been issued."

Apparently Platinum Horseshoe is destined to have it out with Town Dancer, They are getting very close in average hits per day. They have the good people, good dance instructors and a very good territory marked out in West Oahu. We have been getting good information from Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club and a little from Kapolei Chapter, HBDA,  A couple more Information Contributors and a Guest Author would put them in the lead for sure.

 "Sweet Someone" by Don Ho

Coming up in Waianae is a Line Dancing group and it has its fans, the ones that love the dance and socialize as people with a common interest. Same as in other places. I may not be a fan but I certainly approve of it. Hopefully they will get more men. They should do as they please as long as they do no harm to anyone. I am getting somewhat converted. I would like to learn the Electric Slide first because and it so commonly fun,  then the Waltz and the Rumba. They can email us a photo of the gang. Could be a good starter.

"Maui Waltz" by Loyal Garner

The Hit Counter. Not many know much about it but many seem to know that it is not completely accurate as far as knowing how many dancers are reading it. A large part of the hits are from search engines and from spam robots, But you can tell something even if you know that only 70 to 80% of the hits are from your reader/dancers. And most web and blog site have single digit average per day hits. That is nine or less average hits per day. (270 per month.)

And we have a nice new women's club in Pearl City.

Rolliing Along

Looking Good: Kapolei is still a long ways from being Second City though most things are already in place. Too many high class over two million dollar homes of non-residents. But the good residents are going to make it. The Rail Disaster is still there. So the night life that should be here now is still a ways off. They don't even have enough nice cocktail lounges and they are your basic starters. A good size bar becomes a night club when a dance floor is installed,

"Never reach out your hand unless you are willing to extend an arm."

Kapolei, Waipio or Ewa?
I have been to the only bar in town and found it in use by a private party. Too many still living in the last century. "Keep the country, country." (The Fat Cats in Honolulu) Many residents are hard to convince that they they live on an urban island now. So Ewa and Ewa Beach are still wide open for some competition in the new dance action.  Unfortunately, our only official ballroom in West Oahu is the Legacy Ballroom in Waipio and no one knows when was the last time they had a Ballroom Dance.

"Tiny Bubbles" by Don Ho

And of course, there is a natural expectation of a new dance club in Waipio or a Night Club.. And no one can recall if the Legacy Ballroom in Waipio has ever been used as a ballroom, for dancing that is. We are getting to know how to live, work and play in our own kuleana.  And the entire enchilada means that we are getting closer to define, "Ballroom" dancing. That will be our definition in Hawaii and not what outsiders have decided it should be. email is completely screwed up.

Wahiawa Is Still Rolling

The Gateway to the North Shore is coming into prominence. Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club having their Seis De Mayo bash tonight, Hale Hookipa Room at the Wahiawa Recreation Center and people are going to dance up a storm. The last of  the photos from the Anniversary dance are in this last collage.

No doubt about it, they had a Ball.

Additional from Aunty Maile
Aloha Dancers!
We need 6 more people to fill this table for one of the biggest oldies but goodies dance party of the year, happening on October 22, 2016! My table is full but I am trying to help two nice couples to find more people for their table, to complete their table of ten!

"Rags To Riches" by Tony Bennett

At this time, four people are confirmed on this table and would like to invite six interested individuals or 3 couples to complete this table of ten people. The total payment will have to be turned in quickly, as it is important to reserve your table early. 2 years ago, the same organizers had 900 people in attendance!
So tickets will sell fast, if they aren't selling fast already!

Please read the attachment for further information and details and if you have any questions or would like to reserve a seat on this table, please email me back asap!

Wahiawa Will Be Jumping

A plain day of work and things to do at home. I cannot go out much because of my foot but I try to keep busy. Got to get a little more order around here and I am waiting for my adjustable bed, then I can work everything else around it. I am on Assisted Living and I can thank the VA, they are helping me keep away from a Care Home. My blogging is chugging along fine.

"Change is inevitable - except from a vending machine."

I planned on getting this blog going for Tuesday and Monday I got an email from Aunty Maile. Just fit it in nicely, thanks.

Senoritas and Senores!
Don't forget!  It's this Friday! Come join us for fun and dance
in a festive atmosphere!

"Because Of You" by Tony Bennett
On the right, Jacob and his girl friend at the Prom in Califonia.

He calls me Grandpa because everyone around him calls me Grandpa but he is not my grandson. His mother is my granddaughter. His mother is very proud of him and for good reason. Tracey tells me everything and I feel that pride myself to have him part of the family. Sent him his birthday gift early - graduating expenses. Happy Birthday (May 25) Jacob and happiness to you and your girlfriend.

Prepare yourself to be the life of the party and dance until closing time. Dance lessons give you the basics but you gotta get out there and lay some leather down. Your time in this upcoming event will keep you dancing for years to come. Don't be the one who lives your life in fear and half lived. Get inspired and dance with the rest of us.
