West Oahu, A Puzzle.

Wow, I am amazed that some dancers in the West are picking this up. We are dancing more socially in the West. If anyone says that the Cha Cha Cha is a rock step and a chassé, Most of us believe them because we are that kind of dancer. If anyone says that the Swing is a rock step and two chassés, we believe them if we are that kind of dancer. If anyone says that the Mambo, Rumba, Calypso, Beguine, Son, Salsa, etc, ad nauseum are a rock step and a slow step, we can believe them. And variations are "standard" in all of dancing. How is that for an oxymoron?

"It is the same in our dance world, just because the majority is doing something, doesn't mean it's right and the rest of us are wrong."

Platinum Horseshoe blog is primed and ready if it can get a couple of information contributors and couple of Guest Authors and that is all that is needed to get it into the top rung. I can then choose two interested Administrators, it would go independent and run all the way from Makaha to Turtle Bay Hilton. Why not?

Waipio still has the Legacy Ballroom but no one has ever found out what kind of dancing could be done there. But of course a little further north and Mililani is abuzz with possibilites. A possible new social dance club - a line dancing group - and even new night club for social dancers. The biggest hold up for the West has been the insistence of Downtown to have our people work in Downtown Honolulu.

West Oahu seems to be rolling and I am amazed. More dancers are emerging from this section. The Waianae Coast is waiting. The Waianae District Park dance floor was the greatest and now HBDA Dance Studio has rivaled it. And the reader/dancers are becoming more aware of the dance floors, the size and quality of the material. Of course in the beginning it was just to find a place to dance. "And I coulda been home in 20 minutes."

As the Pirates of the old Caribbean use to sing,
"Ho, ho, ho and a bottle of Rum."
