From Millie Chun

Aug. 30, 2016
Hello Joe Martel,
Here are the latest news from HBDA Pearlridge Chapter that you had requested for the West Oahu Social Dance Blog, The Platinum Horseshoe. On the evening of Aug. 30, Pearlridge Chapter held its end of 2nd quarter Teacher Appreciation Social at the HBDA new, expansive studio. In celebration of a successful, fun and great 8 weeks of dance instruction, we are grateful to our outgoing patient, dedicated rotating instructors... the incomparable Patty & Mark Dela Cruz.

Somebody got some good pictures here. And we are going to get better.

It was a special night for all who came to the social: members and friends, dancers and non-dancers from near and afar. A special atmosphere of love and friendship flourished throughout the studio, along with our passion for music and dance. We are also grateful to our glorious heavenly Father for His spiritual gift of music bestowed upon our talented DJs, Agusto & Noemi Jarra.

Entertainment included the fantastic HBDA Hot Hula dancers taught by Tulima Sagapolu & Faith Agbayani. The dancers mesmerized us by their creative combination of exercise/hula/line dancing. Their bodily movements and unique dance steps were certainly a treat for us.

We are going to develop a good photography section in this club.
You can all see the good it does for everyone.

Our chapter is also blessed with the leadership from HBDA Dance Directors Ben & Faith Agbayani, Council president Willy Dionesio, and the loyal, dedicated leaders of our own Pearlridge Chapter officers: President Shirley Ota, Vice President Millie Chun, Secretary Herb Ota, Treasurer Jan Itsuno.

Furthermore, volunteers Ben Gabriel, Lucille N. Sato, Arnold Chun, Karen White, Mimi Whittle, Bill Kline, Judy & Dominic Wong, Stanly & Caroline Yim are always present to help the chapter in any way they can.

Want to learn how to dance? Register at the HBDA studio any Tuesday in September 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. At Pearlridge, 3rd quarter dance lessons begin on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016. Marcelino & Cindy Labason will be teaching Rumba and East Coast Swing. Come join us. We welcome you! Any questions?
