What's New

The reader/dancers of this blog do acknowledge that Blogging is a different communication media from the last century. One way - to whom it may concern - dance club newsletters - studio email flyers - web sites - newspaper - radio and TV advertising. You know Da Kine and they do their job well but we understand - no talk back.

"When the Rumba became universal, because of the music, it was so
real and so honest, it transcended every difference that we have
and reminded us that we are one human family."

Blogs, however, are more personal, direct and mostly current communication. And they leave an opening for comments in each blog and are receptive to more formal answers and opinions in the blog itself, the information contributors. The hits just naturally increase which confirms the communication within the group. Real Social Media is much different than anything we have ever come across on Oahu before. It will take a while for more people to know.

 "That's Amore" by Dean Martin

Anyone ever noticed, the solid rumba being danced west of Mapunapuna. Nothing for exhibitions, of course, but good solid American based Bronze rumba with a little Silver, danced with real feeling of the music. Many using the alternative basic which just beautiful. We've got some terrific teachers somewhere teaching this. Does not seem like any of the LAGS stuff, just beautiful simple stuff.

"I'll Remember You" by Don Ho

Exhibition dancers may be the greatest with their fancy moves, most of them look good and we should and do appreciate them. The only thing we resent is when they lord it over us, just because we want to dance and be happy our way. Though I have not heard the term "junk dancers" in quite a while, we are all sure that many of them still think that way.

"The only dancer you should compare yourself with
is the dancer you used to be."
