The Dance Enchilada

The entire enchilada (our blogosphere) is looking very good. There are fewer sudden swings either up or down. Mainly it is now a slow plodding up and some slower than others. And then there is the interference by the scam, spam, robot hits. There have been signs of the law of diminishing returns with only me and the few Two Centers we are fortunate to have.

"Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough
to make them all yourself."

Over all, we are doing quite well in establishing Social Media for our Dance Environment. Unfortunately, I am the only one, and not famous like other successful bloggers. This happening is solid, slow phasing and has never been overnight. Comments, we don't get, but they should be first and foremost because they are the easiest for the readers to handle. Also the easiest place for anyone to test themselves.

"Sh-Boom, (Life Could Be A Dream)" By the Chordettes

One sentence could lead to two, and perhaps more. They could then elect to be Two Centers (Information Contributors) emailing the information/or photos to be published Each Two Center has their own unique viewpoint. No one else has it and you can share it with the reader/dancers on this or any other blog. Town Dancer could be back up on top.

"Que Sera, Sera" by Doris Day

The problem has existed from the very beginning. Newsletters were one way communication. All advertising is one way communication. Blogs are Social Media and that implies, two way communication. I think it is green and you think it is blue. (another opinion) Ha! Robert just told me that it is purple. We don't have to kill each for the differences, they just come out in the pudding and we can have a good laugh.

blooded Hawaiian? “Well, actually no, right now I am about a pint low.”

Dance Hawaii

Another good club shaping up in the West and Maurice emailed the information that will do the most good for our readers. I played around with the info and my hobby is making posters - so! Expert, I am not, but I am learning, I know I am too old but I can try.

"We dance for laughter, we dance for tears,
we dance for madness, we dance for fears.
We dance for hopes, we dance for screams,
we are the dancers, we create the dreams."

We are getting more beginning social dancers in West Oahu, so we can keep our dance classes mainly in the Bronze and Silver. If the dancers learn their basic movements well in these two levels and what music they like, they will have a hellavah good time dancing socially on this island. Fortunately there are more dance bands forming with "oldies but goodies" format. Those are the tunes we have loved for decades.

"At Last" by Glenn Miller, vocals by Ray Eberly

We may have to dance in the streets.

We need more information directed at our readers, and there is a big, big difference in the usual and what we want. Someone that can get us information to share with our reader/dancers and if we get some photos it would be icing on the cake. The Two Center still the most important need in all our blogs. No commitments, just email whatever you would like to share with our fellow dancers.

“Dancers know that they can make their dance world a better place by making daily improvements to become the best version of themselves.”

The Club and the Rail

With the Rail Disaster in mind many people are thinking of the "need" for a Night Club in Kapolei. With a nice dance floor, the good music would come. There are plenty of social dancers in West Oahu just itching to dance there. Second City? Yes, and we know that the Present Rail Party is doing everything it can to stop it. No Business Parks are to be built there. "I coulda been home in 20 minutes." There are Big, Big bucks in the "Gravy Train" also referred to as "Easy Money."

"Dancers know that truth is like water. No matter how much water
you add to depress it, it always floats on top."

But the citizens of this community are beginning to get together and accept the fact that the Rail Crisis is not Rapid Transit. We do not hear the term anymore, because it was not a misnomer, it was a deliberate lie.  It was the bread, Fred. It was the money, Honey. Millions and millions of dollars in profits. And we know the lucky ones that are going to pay for it. Even the neighbor islands though they don't know it yet.

"Volare" by Domenico Modugno

Caldwell is now a multi millionaire. How did that happen?  Yeah man, we are just beginning to realize all of this. They spent ten million dollars lying about Ben Cayetano. He won 100 thousand in court later but the Present Rail Party was in. The cost of the Rail Disaster was to be five Billion dollars. It went to Six, then Seven, then Eight and now at Nine Billion dollars. Will go to ten? Hah! Why do you think they call it "Easy Money."

"Adoro" por Graciela Susana

The citizens just may do something to make Kapolei into a real second city on the Island of Oahu. And that means no Rail Catastrophes. The people in the neighbor islands are also beginning to find out that they are going to pay for the Rail Disaster too. Easy Money because it is easy to tax the people of Hawaii.

"Dancers may allow themselves the uncomfortable luxury
of changing their minds."

Da Big Blowout

Received a beautiful poster from Aunty Maile of the Wahiawa Ballroom Dance Club. Gives everyone a three week notice of the coming attraction.

 "That's Amore" by Dean Martin

Monday nights, January 7 to February 27, they have Rumba and Samba classes. Teaching by the fabulous, Felipe Repollo and Carol Mendoza. And Wednesday evening, January 11 to February 15, is Line dancing taught by the famous Carol Kohagura, one of the best.

I will also post it in a week or so to Blogging Hawaii to spread the word. Made contact with Dot's in Wahiawa and looks like the Central Valley entertainment is becoming more well known on this Island. I plan on being at the party and blog'em, with a little help from the good people.

with the heart is quite another."

Dance Appeal Studio

Direct email from Marie Laderta
Happy Cock-a-Doodle-Doo Year of the Grand Rooster, Pepe! Paul & I are sponsoring another Keiki Workshop. Hope you can post the announcement below and get the word out for us! Renna & Sergio, once again are donating the use of their studio & not charging the floor fee. It takes people with a heart like Renna & Sergio to make this work. To the Future Dancers of Hawaii, we hang our dreams. Mahalo, Marie.

"Social dancers do not really care if you cannot dance well.
Just get up and dance and you will be one of us."

I am so grateful to have Marie and Paul helping by becoming information contributors to our blogs. These people communicate to our relatives, friends, neighbors and fellow dancers on Oahu, as to what is happening in our dance community on the island of Oahu. These people should be appreciated and all I can say is Mahalo. Let's have more information contributors to share dance info with our reader/dancers.

Foxtantino

Foxtantino is a new fusion dance on the Mainland that connects the Ballroom American and International styles of Foxtrot to Argentine Tango. This dance was designed specifically for the young, who are always looking for something new.  It uses the teaching methods, technique and language of the ballroom dances so Foxtantino is easy for Ballroom dancers to learn and dance with each other. The teachers will make millions as per usual.

"Tango is really a combination of many cultures beginning
with the Milonga in Peru, though the music has
become the national music of Argentina."

The more experienced social dancers are intrigued and fascinated with Argentine Tango, but, many do not want to give up their dance frame, their Ballroom culture and/or acquire new music appreciation skills and fully enter into the elite Argentine Tango community. Foxtantino provides Ballroom dancers the fun and excitement of Argentine Tango while keeping to the style of dancing with which they are familiar.

"Arancame La Vida" by Libertad Lamarque

Unfortunately there are so many different opinions of the aficionados of Tango music through the world. There are nine different tangos dance in Argentina alone. We have four in Hawaii. The American, the Argentine, the International and the Filipino. I personally think there will evolve a new Tango on Oahu, the Hawaiian Tango, with the amalgamation of the Filipino Tango and the American Tango. How about that?

"I love Tango and I use to dance it when I was young." Pope Francis

Rail Disaster - Bus

By Donald Smith, Waipio

Actual ridership on recent rail projects around the country has averaged 40 percent less than had been predicted. The last elevated system built achieved ridership that was 75.9 percent less than had been projected. The consultant who prepared that projection, Parsons Brinkerhoff, also prepared ours and could be even more wrong.

We could have bought 100 of these babies for less than 100 million.

The city claims that the percentage of commuters who use public transportation will increase from 6 percent to 7.4 percent once rail has been built. But most cities have experienced a decline in bus ridership, specially in places where business parks have been constructed in the outskirts. The combined rate for bus and rail has usually been less than was the rate for just the bus. It’s not too late to convert the existing guide way to use by bus rapid transit.

Beautiful Business Park in Kapolei, voted down by the Present Rail Party.
Could have been five thousand less commuters daily to Honolulu,
on freeways and buses.

Some of the saved money could then be used to reduce traffic congestion adding new traffic lanes to existing roads; and expanding Honolulu’s bus system, such as by increasing the number of express buses that go where commuters want to go, rather than eliminating most of them, as is part of the current rail plan.

"Yes, we all know, it was always the bread, Fred."

The original estimate was five billion dollars. But when so many of the Caldwell fat cats in Honolulu saw the "easy money," it went to six, seven and the latest is eight billion dollars. The experts on the Mainland are now talking no less the ten billion dollars. The Rail Disaster is now known as the "Gravy Train" to the "in crowd" at Honolulu Hale.  In the state building it is just referred to as "easy money."
